Mariscope delivers Special ROV to NGO Oceana Chile

A special adapted Mariscope ROV, model Comander MK II has been delivered last November to the international organization for marine conservation Oceana in Chile. This ROV has been specially adapted to the requirements of scientific investigation and documentation of the organization.
The ROV has been equipped with a special HDTV camera device coupled with 4 sets of high output cluster LEDs. This features gives OCEANA the possibility to use the vehicle in benthic applications, mainly related to Macrozoobenthos investigations. Other applications for the Comander MKII is the documentation of seamounts and the ecological impact of catastrophes like the spill related to the ‘Deep  Water Horizon’ in the Gulf of Mexico among others.

Depth rated to 600 m the ROV has been equipped with auto heading and auto depth functions, preprogrammed auto diving function and several other sensors to permit a permanent and trustful operation. Due to the fact that Mariscope’s propulsion system is based on three phased brushless AC motors, and the extreme reliability of all components, the all-electric vehicle comes with a life time warranty.
Mariscope Meersetechnik’s daughter company in Chile, Mariscope Ingeniería, permanently carries out tests under the harshest conditions, mainly in Patagonia. Due to the permanent use of their own vehicles, Mariscope is able to improve permanently their systems, not only relying on the experience of their customers. Combined with the fact that the vehicles are manufactured with stainless steel, these ROVs are nearly indestructible.
